No, M. tech doesnot give benefit after Joining IES. Promotion : Initial Promotion given in IES is on the basis of your rank in IES entrance Exam.

Because, it comes under discontinue and will not get any certificate. It is advisable to study Mtech without completely leaving it and parallely you can also do the job. So, that both will work and you’ll get the certificate too.
