Can non students walk around campus?

(Assuming US universities) most are open campus, anyone can walk around the grounds during normal business hours. Facilities such as on-campus restaurants, libraries, and the like will be open to the general public. Other buildings (administration offices, etc.) will be open to those who have official business there.

Can you visit a college campus without a tour?

Visiting the college’s admissions website or calling them to ask questions will answer some of the above questions. Many colleges don’t require you to register for a tour or reserve a seat at an infosession, but you’ll still need to confirm when and how often these infosessions and tours occur.

If you’re a student, it’s very easy to walk in and attend a class. I would recommend reaching out to the professor and ask for permission, usually professors are nice about it especially if they know its a class that’s not available for your major or a popular class in general.

Many professors are happy to let anyone who is interested sit in on their classes. I’ve allowed non-students to attend my classes on several occasions, subject to the following rules: There must be a seat for you. If the classroom is completely full then you can’t attend.
