A lot of upsc topper start there own coaching class for guiding students. Upsc toppers earn money through teaching. Some of join offline coaching or some join online coaching for teachings new aspirant. Every upsc toppers is experts in particular subjects hence they can easily start their teaching and earn money.

How long is IAS coaching?

Many will need much more time to learn and understand the UPSC pattern. The time required may be 6 months for someone or 1 year for the other. Considering Prelims and Mains as a single package (Prelims-cum-Mains-Integrated-Approach), a 12 month advance preparation can be considered as ideal.

Can an IAS officer teach in private coaching institutes?

Government permission is never given to teach in private coaching institutes. Actually, they are teaching in these premier institutes. For Non-technical portion of ESE’17 for Mechanical branch, we had approx. 3–4 faculties having background of IAS ( I don’t know about others). I will not reveal their identity here.
