Language is not simply an assortment of words but an entity that connects an individual to his family, identity, culture, music, beliefs and wisdom. It is the carrier of history, traditions, customs and folklore from one generation to another. Our language is actually our identity.

What does it mean if someone can notice the language you speak?

If someone can notice that language I speak that someone is going to know something about me (my location) and that will be part of my identity because that someone will create a list of things about my personality, cultural and social background, etc. It means, I’ll be seen different from someone else and that’s the idea of having an identity.
