Does Turnitin check other submissions?

Turnitin checks previously submitted work and detects it as plagiarism, whether it was submitted by you or someone else. This is because previously submitted papers and essays are stored on the Turnitin database.

Does Turnitin overwrite previous submissions?

Remember that only a single file can be uploaded into Turnitin and the previous submission will be overwritten with each new upload. The original (previous) submission cannot be retrieved!
