Does Turnitin check other submissions?

Turnitin checks previously submitted work and detects it as plagiarism, whether it was submitted by you or someone else. This is because previously submitted papers and essays are stored on the Turnitin database.

Does Turnitin overwrite previous submissions?

Remember that only a single file can be uploaded into Turnitin and the previous submission will be overwritten with each new upload. The original (previous) submission cannot be retrieved! You will receive a new receipt for each resubmission. Similarity Reports cannot be forced by your instructor or Turnitin staff.

Does Turnitin detect equations?

It should be noted that Turnitin does not effectively check assignments consisting of mathematical formula or computer code and does not provide an effective check of the content of diagrams submitted in an assignment.

How do you delete a submission on Turnitin?

From the submission inbox, click the trash can icon alongside the paper submission you would like to delete. A warning box will ask you to confirm the deletion. Select OK to confirm.

Does Turnitin accept late submissions?

In reality, Turnitin does not detect self-plagiarism if you re-use your own paper was not submitted to its database or published online. However, Turnitin checker will flag self-plagiarism if you are re-using the same paper or content that you had not submitted before.

Does Turnitin offer Doc-to-Doc comparison?

If you would like access to Doc-to-Doc Comparison contact your Turnitin representative. This feature is not available for individual accounts. Doc-to-doc comparison allows you to upload one primary document to compare against a maximum of five comparison documents.
