How does FreeCodeCamp make money?

How does FreeCodeCamp make money?

No advertising. We market ourselves through our product: people who can code. We also blog, tweet relevant links, and live stream pair programming sessions. We’re not paying money to expose people to annoying ads.

How good is FreeCodeCamp JavaScript course?

It’s great for beginners 😁, the only catch is, you need to learn a lot to beat their challenges. It becomes a great place to learn and improve yourself as long as you do not give up. When you learn anything you do not just learn in one place. FreeCodeCamp is a great place to pick up JavaScript if you are a beginner.

Is freeCodeCamp a good resource?

Overall, freeCodeCamp is the best free resource for learning to code in a structured way. I personally, got ahead of myself and began getting frustrated with the lack of visuals. The material you learn in the JavaScript curriculum is valuable, relevant, and taught in a comprehensible way, just lacking in visuals.

How long does it take to complete freeCodeCamp?

The first part of FreeCodeCamp is Responsive Web Design Certification. This states that this part takes 300 hours including the projects. I have finished the first 190 exercises or so in less than 10 hours and am now starting the projects. Am I right in assuming that the projects will take me 250hours plus?

Should I drop out of college to do freeCodeCamp?

No. Please don’t drop out of college just to pursue freeCodeCamp. You can pursue both concurrently. Even though you don’t need a 4-year degree to work as a software developer, it still helps a lot. Should I complete all of the coding challenges in order?

Is free code camp’s front end Dev program worth it?

I can’t recommend Free Code Camp’s Front End Dev program enough. Regardless of how long it takes you, it’s free, it’s easy to start, and it has an intelligent and accessible community (if I do say so myself). I had found myself feeling intellectually starved and learning to code provided a satisfying stretch for old mental muscles.

Is freeCodeCamp a good alternative to coding bootcamps?

This resource is closer to DIY education than coding bootcamps. freeCodeCamp only provides lessons, and while comprehensive, creating a schedule is on you. If you’re an excellent self-learner, able to keep a good schedule, and find joy in programming, this could be a good option for you.
