In 1955 the aphorism was credited to the philosopher Seneca in a Louisiana newspaper. It’s just as true today as when the ancient Roman philosopher, Seneca, said it: “There is no right way to do a wrong thing.”

What is it called when you do the right thing for the wrong reason?

Serendipitously is the word I would use, although it means something more like “doing the right thing for no reason at all”.

Life is important and it is worth doing anything you can do to save it. No matter what the cost is. Some people do know that they do the wrong thing but for the right reason. Many people what the wrong thing is but still do it for a good reason. But the wrong thing is not always the right thing.
