Who would win a dragon or a Balrog?

Balrog vs dragon, as a general setup, is simple to answer. Balrog. Even in the earliest writings, when Balrogs were much, much weaker and more numerous than they are in the conceptions you probably identify with them (as in, what Gandalf fights), Balrogs are stated outright to be more powerful than dragons.

Is Nazgul invincible?

Apparently yes. The Lord of the Nazgul was destroyed by Eowyn and Merry, when the One Ring was still in existence. This suggests that the Nazgul weren’t invulnerable, but very difficult to destroy.

How do you beat the Nazgul?

The best way to quickly defeat the Nazgul is Executions….In Short:

  1. Counter or Roll away from the Nazgul attacks, when prompted.
  2. Use Executions to quickly lower their health.
  3. When their icon turns green, use Dominate to banish them.
  4. Fight the Nazgul one at a time.

Could the Lord of the Nazgûl have slain or Defeated Gandalf?

My short answer is “Yes, the Lord of the Nazgûl could have slain or defeated Gandalf”. Well, I’m sure he could have slain Gandalf the Grey. I’m not sure about Gandalf the White, but given that Gandalf himself was in doubt of the outcome I’m willing to say that it would not have been a slam dunk by any means.

How many Balrogs did Gondolin have?

The story of Gondolin’s fall could have remained very tragic and the deeds of its heroes remained great, but Tolkien had already decided there were no more than 7 Balrogs at most (and apparently only 1 survivor after the First Age).
