What is Salesforce not good for?

The main drawback of Salesforce is its confusing pricing, which can quickly get expensive. We would have preferred simpler more transparent pricing like some of its competitors offer. Also, while Salesforce is generally easy to use, there is also somewhat of a learning curve to get the most out of it.

I think one of the most drawing factors of any CRM solution is its usability, hands-down! Many people switch from spreadsheets to a CRM because of its ease of use. But in the case of Salesforce, you have so many menus and options to get used to and the entire experience sort of draws you back from what you want to achieve with the software.

Is it possible to set up Salesforce by yourself?

No matter how hard you try, you cannot set it up yourself. You need to appoint a team of “Salesforce experts” (I think that’s what a lot of them call themselves) to make the application run, maintain it and fix issues if any.

Is the CRM experience fake?

The whole experience is fake. I get the sense that companies shift to CRM in an effort to measure sales performance, shift sales knowledge to global data and automate the sales effort so sales successes can be replicated by those who are not great salesmen.

Can You bulk mail in Salesforce without add-ons?

In the case of Salesforce, you cannot bulk mail without add-ons! (Fun fact: This requires a developer, too!) And these add-ons are, again, not price-friendly! When I use a CRM solution, I like the small things that make the entire experience of using it worthwhile.
