Why can you not travel back in time?

Why can you not travel back in time?

The bending of space-time causes objects to move on a curved path and that curvature of space is what we know as gravity. Mathematically one can go backwards or forwards in the three spatial dimensions. But time doesn’t share this multi-directional freedom.

Can we travel in past?

Time travel to the past is forbidden by simple physics even in the absence of humans. We can travel into the future by either spending time in a vehicle traveling very fast relative to earth or by spending time in a very strong gravitational field. In both cases, time travel does not allow skipping to some future time.

How we can go in past?

Time travel: five ways that we could do it

  • Time travel via speed. This is the easiest and most practical way to time travel into the far future – go really fast.
  • Time travel via gravity.
  • Time travel via suspended animation.
  • Time travel via wormholes.
  • Time travel using light.

Why can’t we travel in time?

Besides the answer given by Mr. Shute, there are other reasons why time travel is impossible; I can think of at least three: (1) It violates conservation of mass/energy. Imagine that a time machine did exist, and you were allowed to go in it and travel back in time by five minutes.

Is it possible to travel to the past?

The urge to hug a departed loved one again or prevent atrocities are among the compelling reasons that keep the notion of time travel alive in the minds of many. While the idea makes for great fiction, some scientists now say traveling to the past is impossible.

What would happen if you time travel for 82 years?

But back on Earth, 82 years would have passed. Everyone you know would have aged tremendously. This is the standard way time travel physically works: it takes you into the future, with the amount of travel forward in time dependent only on your motion through space.
