Why do flat Earthers try to explain sunrise and Sunset?

They feel the need to do so because their flat earth model has the sun moving in a circular path that is always above the plane of the Earth, so a sunrise or sunset would be seemingly impossible. and so on. There are quite a few videos on YouTube where flat earthers try to explain sunrise and sunset.

How big is the Sun on a flat Earth?

In order to fit the law of perspective, if it the sun would be approximatiely 3.5x larger at midday. It can be argued, but it is a math law, and it works. The sun on a flat earth doesn’t however. +Kemp Kennedy Its size depends on your altitude though. At sea level, it mountain, the same cannot be said.

Is the Sun glitter on Earth flat?

Flat-Earthers take the long shape of the reflection of a sunset on an ocean surface as ‘proof’ that Earth is flat. They are wrong. Sun glitter is the result of rippling water. The difference in curvature between the flat and spherical Earth model is not that far to cause the difference in the shape of sun glitter.

Do sunsets prove a flat-Earth model of the Sun?

Some flat-Earthers observed a specific appearance of sunset and presented the fact as if it “proves” a receding sun in the flat-Earth model. They are wrong. The appearances of the sunsets are the results of atmospheric refraction. The apparent size of the Sun is constant throughout the day, from sunrise to sunset, seen from anywhere on Earth.
