Other people might please others because they want to avoid internal bad feelings such as: Fear of rejection: They are afraid to voice their opinions because they are afraid people would reject who they are. Loneliness: They want to fit in and they think that by pleasing others, they would feel included.

You absolutely shouldn’t try to please everyone all the time. It’s just not worth it. Not only will you begin to live your life according to someone else’s standards, but you’ll deplete yourself of any sense of happiness or enthusiasm.

If it doesn’t make you happy, then it isn’t worth doing. Pleasing other people, at the very least, should please you simultaneously. If you find that pleasing other people is making you miserable, you clearly shouldn’t be trying to please them.
