There are many reasons why someone would point someone else’s flaws. It either means that they really care about you and genuinely think that the flaw they mentioned is destructive for you or they could just be dealing with their own insecurities.

People who refuse to acknowledge they’ve made a mistake are impossible to have any kind of meaningful relationship with. I was married to one for 20+ years, and despite some serious, destructive actions on his part.. ie: developing a drug addiction, physically abusing me, infidelity… he still won’t accept his part in our marriage falling apart.
